Dating back to the Federal architectural period, Burns Hall, named after S. Mary Florence Burns, houses beautiful formal parlors, a formal dining room, the campus chapel, the student lounge and kitchen and the biology laboratories.
DILLON CHILD STUDY CENTERThe Dillon Center was founded in 1934 as one of the first college preschools on the East coast. This unique laboratory school provides opportunities for child study majors to gain hands-on experience, while offering valuable resources to the community.
Sister Vincent Therese Tuohy Hall
Named for the former president of SJC. The administration building contains student lounges, classrooms, an auditorium, student government offices, the gymnasium and administrative offices. The chemistry and physics laboratories, as well as the art studio, are on the third floor.
Located at 265 Clinton Avenue, Lorenzo Hall provides office space for academic departments, such as mathematics and English, as well as departmental libraries, areas for conferences and informal discussions. The administrative offices of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies are situated in this center.
McEntegart Hall Library
Newly renovated, McEntegart Hall is a fully air-conditioned five-level structure. Spacious reading areas, individual study carrels and computers with Internet access provide an excellent environment for research. An integrated online library system was installed in 1999, giving access to the collection of more than 107,000 volumes, 4,000 reels of microfilm, 400 videos and more than 400 periodicals. Numerous online databases provide full-text copies of journal articles.
A fully-qualified staff provides hands-on instruction for accessing the Internet and online databases. The more traditional paper resources are examined as well. Membership in the Academic Libraries of Brooklyn (ALB) and the Metropolitan Library Council of New York (METRO) gives students access to the many excellent libraries in the metropolitan area. Through membership in the international library network OCLC, interlibrary loan is facilitated. McEntegart Hall houses the college archives, three computer labs, a nursing education lab, the videoconference room and eight classrooms. In addition, there is a chapel, a large cafeteria and faculty and student lounge areas in this multipurpose building.
The Molloy Theatre
Overlooking the college mall is the Molloy Outdoor Theatre, site of commencement ceremonies, outdoor student activities and other campus events.
St. Angela Hall
St. Angela hall houses classrooms, a wireless laptop lab, a video-conferencing and meeting room and offices for faculty and Campus Ministry. The Marygrace Calhoun Dunn Academic Center, a center that provides academic assistance to English Language Learners (ELL) students, is also located here.
St. Joseph's Hall
256 Clinton, a five-story building, houses the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Office of Alumni Relations, the Psychology Laboratory and several academic department offices, such as history, speech, languages and sociology. Students and alumni may enjoy the garden behind the building, a regular site for reunions and receptions.
The Brooklyn Campus is surrounded by historic and unique architecture, tree-lined streets and new eateries and shops. The College developed its property on Vanderbilt Avenue into an attractive and attended parking facility.
