About The Child Study Program

St. Joseph’s College child study majors are prepared to apply for four New York State teaching certificates: Early Childhood, Childhood, Students with Disabilities: Early Childhood and Students with Disabilities: Childhood.

Immediately following graduation, they can work with children in day care, preschool, elementary and special education settings.

The child study program is based on a developmental model, with a strong grounding in the psychological foundations of good educational practice.

The faculty of the child study program look forward to helping you become the best teacher possible.
