American Studies

Using perspectives in the arts, humanities and social sciences, St. Joseph’s interdisciplinary program in American studies explores the diverse ideas and experiences that have contributed to the development of American cultural and political life.

American studies can be taken as a minor or a concentration for child study majors. The concentration prepares students for graduate work in American studies, a master’s degree program appropriate for teachers.

American Studies is a concentration area for child study majors on the Long Island Campus only.
