Art

St. Joseph’s art history, theory and studio art courses may provide the foundation. But through our active faculty and department-sponsored trips, our students gain a broad perspective on global art forms.

Art is offered as a minor on both campuses and as a child study concentration. Our courses are open to all students, who learn from a faculty that consistently shows its work in galleries on Long Island and in New York City. Studio courses, which include ceramics, ceramic sculpture, crafts, graphic design, drawing, painting and photography, remain a vital component to the art curriculum.
