Accounting Program

Students who obtain St. Joseph’s College’s B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting must also complete an appropriate master’s degree to fulfill New York State’s 150-credit requirement for Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) licensure.

The 128-credit accounting program prepares students for public or private accounting careers and requires 11 accounting and several business courses, which comprise half of the curriculum. Additional liberal arts courses and electives are also required.

Students pursuing the B.S. within the School of Professional and Graduate Studies have typically completed an associate degree in accounting or its equivalent and have acquired, through experience, the skills and knowledge appropriate to the degree.
