Biology Department News

Dr. Michael J. Hanophy, associate biology professor, presented a poster, "Measuring Biofilm Development Using Two-Dimensional Imaging" at the 26th Annual Meeting of the Northeastern Microbiologists for Physiology, Ecology, and Taxonomy (NEMPET). The poster was based on the research he performed with two of his senior thesis students, Shifat Noor '09 and Shannon Wilkey '09.

Dr. Hanophy also published a paper in The Science Teachers Bulletin, the journal of the Science Teachers Association of New York State (STANYS). The paper, "Karyotype Analysis in the Digital Age," was based on work that Dr. Hanophy did with Jennifer Ciago '08, a Brooklyn Campus graduate.
