By emphasizing the inner workings of the police, court and corrections systems, St. Joseph’s College’s criminal justice major places you on a specialized track toward your desired career. Law enforcement, counseling, intelligence and fraud investigation are only a few of the fields that our criminal justice graduates have found careers in. The curriculum is composed of core requirements totaling 27 credits and a 9-credit concentration in one of five tracks.

With courses like Computer Application and Cyber Crime, and Criminalistics and Crime Scene Investigation, the College is expanding the program with cutting-edge technology and software.

Internship Opportunities

Students can also obtain internships. Previously, students have been placed at agencies such as the Suffolk County Police Department and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office to gain first-hand experience and apply it in the classroom. Students at our Brooklyn campus have interned at the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office, the New York Police Department and for the NYC Police Cadet Program.
