Those applying for initial certification in early childhood, childhood, students with disabilities: early childhood and students with disabilities: childhood must meet the following New York State requirements:
- complete a bachelor’s degree in approved program (child study)
- complete a child abuse workshop
- complete a prevention of school violence workshop
- pass the following New York State teacher certification examinations:
A) Liberal Arts and Sciences Test (LAST)
B) Assessment of Teaching Skills-Written (ATS-W)
C) Multi-Subject Content Specialty Test (CST)
D) Students with Disabilities Content Specialty Test (CST)
- complete a fingerprinting packet distributed by the New York State Education Department
