Therapeutic recreation is one of the fastest-growing professions in the nation. Alumni are employed at psychiatric hospitals, physical medicine and rehabilitation centers, assisted-living and long-term care facilities, centers for the developmentally disabled, town and state recreation and parks departments and several governmental and private recreational facilities.
Students that major in therapeutic recreation are eligible for the National Recreation Certification exam. This exam is necessary to become a certified therapeutic recreation specialist.
