The Social Sciences Club is an innovative club open to Long Island students of all disciplines to boost awareness and knowledge of contemporary social issues through discussions. Additional tasks include open discussions on issues, guest speakers, debate forums and charitable fundraising.

Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences
The chapter was inducted in May 2008. The mission of Pi Gamma Mu is to encourage and promote excellence in the social sciences and to uphold the ideals of scholarship and service. Students are inducted annually after achieving a grade point average of 3.3 in 21 social science credits including: sociology, economics, political science, anthropology and criminal justice. Club officers are elected. Charitable events are planned.
