Sociology Requirements

Sociology Major

Sociology studies the ways people interact with each other in the networks and systems that make up society. Sociologists describe and explain the social forces that are at work in society, such as social inequality, group loyalty, competition, conflict and cooperation.

Sociology Minor

Eighteen credits are required to complete the minor. No more than 6 credits can be taken at the 100 level. A minimum of a C average is required. Elective courses should be selected with departmental advisement to complement the student’s major.
