Veterans Benefits

VETERANS

As part of the College's participation in the Post-9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon Program, financial support for education and housing is offered to military veterans with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2011, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days.

Benefits for veterans participating in the Post-9/11 GI Bill Yellow Ribbon program include:

  • A monthly housing allowance based on the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) for an E-5 with dependents. This is prorated based on the student's rate of pursuit.
  • An annual books and supplies stipend of $1,000 paid proportionately based on enrollment.
  • The Post-9/11 GI Bill also offers some service members the opportunity to transfer their GI Bill benefits to dependents.

Testimonial

"I chose St. Joseph’s because as a small liberal arts school, I felt it would give me more of an opportunity to be involved and have a more personal relationship with the students and faculty. I transferred in from a much larger state school where it was easy to get lost in the crowd. St. Joseph’s is a very military-friendly school, with dedicated military advisers there to offer guidance or to help navigate the administrative system, which can be a little intimidating for returning vets. The student-led Armed Forces Club on campus allows me an opportunity to meet other veterans and get involved in events on campus."
