The Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths (RID) is a non-profit organization. We are committed to reducing hospital acquired infections nationwide. Hospital acquired infections kill more people in the U.S. each than AIDS, auto accidents and breast cancer combined. I came to RID after my 63 year old mom died from an infection she contracted in a hospital while undergoing surgical repair of a shoulder fracture.
