Sign-In Beginning at 10 a.m., guests may arrive at O’Connor Hall and sign in at the reception area through the main doors of the building. A continental breakfast will be served and we encourage you to chat with some of our current students and alumni who will be mingling with our guests.
Opening Session At 10:30 a.m., you’ll hear from our president and senior administrators who will welcome you to campus, share our academic goals and explain the happenings of the day.
Parents in the Process During this session, parents will enjoy a humorous look at themselves and their new role as parents of a college-bound student. With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, presenter Mary Ozechoski will also share her insight into how and why students are successful as undergraduate students. Ms. Ozechoski will address concerns parents have over rising tuition costs, the employment outlook and how to get the most value out of a college education through experiences both in and out of the classroom setting.
Student Panel While parents enjoy their session, students gather in the McGann Conference Center for their own session. Here they can ask a panel of current students questions about anything they want – classes, schedules, professors, activities and athletics. This interactive session allows for open discussion and the opportunity to learn lots more about SJC.
Academic/Student Services Fair Following the parent and student sessions, families are reunited in the Danzi Athletic Center for the Academic and Student Services Fair. Representatives from all our academic departments are available to share information about courses, career opportunities and features of our major and minor programs. Students can also talk with students, coaches and administrators about the many student life opportunities, athletic teams and student organizations that are available at SJC while enjoying refreshments. Tours of the campus will also be available and will depart from the Danzi Athletic Center lobby.
