Dear New St. Joseph’s Student: Happy New Year! I am delighted to welcome you to St. Joseph’s College. Please see the enclosed information regarding new student and transfer orientation which has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 17. As you can see from the schedule, there will be opportunities for you to meet with current students as well as your academic advisers. The day begins with a delicious brunch, so plan to arrive by 10:15 a.m. Parking is available in the student lots on Vanderbilt Avenue. We are very proud of our students, faculty and staff and I am certain that you will understand why as you learn more about SJC, its programs and its future. As a private institution of higher education, we are committed to excellence. The student body reflects diverse backgrounds and cultures and our dedicated faculty and staff pride themselves on offering students personal attention and support. Some students find January admission to college a challenging experience; therefore, I urge you to attend this special orientation which has been arranged specifically for all new students who will start classes at SJC in the spring 2012 semester. Several key areas will be addressed including advisement, registration, student life and support services. You will learn how to set up your student email, get an ID card, purchase a parking tag - and have the opportunity to win prizes and receive free gifts. I look forward to meeting you on January 17.
