Susan M. Hudec, Ph.D.
Dean of Students and Student Life
Dr. Hudec earned an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from CUNY, a B.A. in English Literature and M.S.Ed. from Wagner College and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, Leadership and Technology from New York University. Prior to working at St. Joseph’s College, she was an assistant professor and director of non-traditional career students office at Kingsborough Community College. Dr. Hudec previously was the Counseling Coordinator of the freshman year experience at Kingsborough.
Before working at Kingsborough, she was director of student activities and the Wagner Union at Wagner College. Dr. Hudec was employed as a part-time faculty member in graduate programs at Wagner College and St. John’s University.
Her dissertation, entitled “Inducing Voluntary Community Service in Undergraduates: The Relative Contributions of Prior Experience, Coursework, and the Disposition of Empathy and Moral Development,” (2002) earned notable mention in Recent Dissertations on Service-Learning and Service Learning Topics, Vol. III (2003).
The dean of students and Office of Student Life is committed to supporting a vibrant and diverse campus community. Student life is responsible for the planning, development, coordination and supervision of programs, services and activities outside the classroom.
