Delta Epsilon Sigma

Delta Epsilon Sigma is a national scholastic honor society for undergraduates, faculty and alumni of colleges and universities with a Catholic tradition. St. Joseph’s was one of the founding colleges and we remain the headquarters for the Epsilon Chapter.

To be eligible, candidates must have a record for outstanding academic accomplishment, are dedicated to intellectual activity and have accepted their responsibility of service to others.

Juniors and seniors may be considered for membership, provided that they have completed one full year (30 credits) at St. Joseph’s and have a cumulative index, which, if continued, would make them eligible for graduation cum laude. The Committee on Academic Development recommends eligible students to the Epsilon Chapter, which then votes on membership. No more than 15 percent of a class may be elected; usually only 10 percent are elected in junior year. Delta Epsilon Sigma site.

If you are applying for this organization, you must fill out one activities form and submit one essay. Faculty needs to fill out only one recommendation form for any or all of the all three honor societies.
