St. Joseph's College Council for the Arts Presents: It's Personal. February 1 - March 3.
A juried exhibition of Brooklyn artists under age 35. The submission deadline is January 15, 2010.
ARTIST ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible an artist must be under 35 years of age;(proof of age will be requested) -and- live in Brooklyn -or- work in a studio in Brooklyn -or- be listed as a member of a Brooklyn art association.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
2-D work - no more than 24 in any direction (framed) and 3-D work no larger than 2 in any direction
artists may submit up to 2 entries
selected works must be delivered to St. Joseph's College. 2-D works must be matted, framed, wired and ready to hang
3-D work must have pedestal
Artists may submit their work:
- via slides or CD, sent to Stacey Temple, Council for the Arts, St. Joseph's College, 245 Clinton Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11205 (please see info at end)
- electronic files can be e-mailed to stemple@sjcny.edu (please see info at end)
- short artist statement (not to exceed 1pg per work)
Receipt of slides or electronic entry will be acknowledged. There is no entry fee.
SELECTION JURY
The selection jury will be made up of an award judge and members of the St. Joseph's College art faculty.
AWARDS
First, second, third place and honorable mention awards will be given.
AWARD PRESENTATION AND RECEPTIONS
Opening reception and award presentation: Monday, February 1 from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Gallery talk: Tuesday, February 23 at 12:40 p.m.
Artists' reception: Saturday, February 20 from noon - 3 p.m.
Refreshments will be served at all events. Work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit.
LIABILITY
Works will be insured and handled with all possible care.
SALES
St. Joseph's College collects no commission on any sales generated through the exhibition.
Notification of Selection
We anticipate notifying artists by phone or e-mail by Thursday, January 21, 2010

Open to the public from Monday, February 1 to Wednesday, March 3
Receptions: Opening and Award Presentation are Monday, February 1 from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. and the artist reception is Saturday, February 20 from noon to 3 p.m.
Gallery talk is Tuesday, February 23, 12:40 p.m.
Delivery of submitted work is January 27 and January 30, times TBD
Removal of work from March 4 - March 6, times TBD
