The Academic Center accepts volunteers for certain disciplines but primarily hires students who have an interest in peer tutoring for various disciplines and an accomplished academic record. We are looking for students with above average writing skills as well as chemistry, biology, arts and sciences and language majors. Upon receiving an invitation for an interview with the Academic Center supervisors and staff, students must bring the following to the interview:
Transcripts showing a 3.5 cumulative GPA at SJC
High school or previous college transcripts in lieu of SJC transcripts
Writing sample (college papers preferred but high school AP papers considered)
Two letters of recommendation (e-mailed from SJC faculty in lieu of letter is okay)
After a successful interview, you will be contacted regarding position availability.
