Ph.D. in History, Syracuse University

Specializing in British studies, Philip Dehne is the associate chair of the Department of History and serves on the Curriculum Committee, Agenda Committee, Planning Committee and Admissions Council at St. Joseph's College.

Dr. Dehne has presented papers on World War I, neutrality and economic warfare at various international conferences in Helsinki, Konstanz, Amsterdam, London and Rio de Janeiro. He has been awarded the St. Joseph's College Faculty Development Grant four times and received the Outstanding Dissertation Award of the Maxwell School of Syracuse University in 2001.

Dr. Dehne's book On the Far Western Front: Britain's First World War in South America is scheduled to be published by Manchester University Press in December 2009. He is currently working on a book on the activities of Lord Robert Cecil at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919.
