Donald Lizak is the director of athletics at St. Joseph’s Long Island Campus. He has had an extensive career in coaching college basketball. Mr. Lizak has been at SJC since 1994. 

Mr. Lizak taught Social Studies at Plainedge High School from 1971-1973. At the same time, he began his coaching career as the junior varsity basketball coach at Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, NY.

Before coming to SJC, Mr. Lizak was the head basketball coach and assistant athletic director at Queens College in Flushing, NY. From 1990-1994, he was the tournament director for the Metropolitan Section of the P.G.A. of America. Prior to that, he was as an assistant basketball coach at St. John’s University, LIU-C.W. Post College and Wagner College, where he also served as the assistant athletic director. He was head basketball coach and athletic director at Long Island University’s Southampton College (now Stony Brook Southampton) from 1976-1980.
