Areas of Expertise: Economics (European union, economic and monetary union)

Associate professor of economics Dr. Richard J. Torz is an active member of the Northeast Business and Economics Association (NBEA) and the Eastern Economic Association (EEA). He has served on the board of directors of the NBEA and currently serves on the Conference Program Committee of the EEA in addition to being a referee/reviewer for The Journal of Business and Economic Studies.

Dr. Torz specializes in the economics of the European Union (EU) and the European Monetary Union (EMU), and his current research interests involve analysis of pertinent issues regarding both the EU and EMU. He has recently organized the EU-EMU Working Group, a team that presents panel sessions on both EU and EMU issues at various academic and professional conferences throughout the year.
