Leon Bernardyn has been a member of the St. Joseph's College community since 2002. Chair of the Department of Music for both the Brooklyn and Long Island campuses, he oversees creative elements of the educational process college-wide.
Prior to joining the St. Joseph's faculty, Mr. Bernardyn taught courses at a number of schools. He developed curriculum at Marymount Manhattan College and The College at Old Westbury, State University of New York, and founded both the private instruction music program at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey and the guitar studies program at Cecil Community College in Maryland.
Mr. Bernardyn has extensive experience as a performer, teacher and arts administrator. He has concertized, lectured and given masterclasses throughout North America as a solo and ensemble musician, and has been an integral part of the New York City music scene. He has served as an executive board member of the New York City Classical Guitar Society and as the founder of the New York Guitar Quartet.
