The Committee on Honors recognizes and rewards student achievement.
Functions
to recommend to the faculty standards for the awarding of honors
to vote on student membership in honor societies
to clarify the role of participation in extracurricular activities in the awarding of honors and to define extracurricular activities that come under this heading
to publicize the awarding of honors through the Office of Public Relations and through the student newspaper.
The Dean’s List is reserved to the dean. Department honors are reserved to the departments.
Membership
seven to 10 faculty members appointed by the dean from among volunteers
assistant dean of academic affiars, ex-officio
registrar, ex-officio
director of counseling and career services, ex-officio
