Advisory Council (PGS)

The School of Professional and Graduate Studies Advisory Council facilitates the communication of ideas and issues deemed important by members of the College community.

Functions
  • to provide a forum for ongoing discussion

  • to stimulate an exchange of ideas

  • to advise the president and the constituencies of the College.

Process
Discussions in a collegial climate of mutual respect and trust.

Procedure
  • Two meetings each semester with additional meetings are required. 

  • Open meetings may be held at the discretion of the council.

  • Any member of the College community may offer agenda for consideration. (In deference to the principle of subsidiarity, topics that should be dealt within another area should first be considered there.) The agenda should be submitted to the dean’s secretary 24 hours in advance of the meeting.

Membership
  • four faculty members appointed by the vice president and dean for terms of one year   

  • four students appointed by the vice president and dean from among volunteers
