Since it opened in 1916, St. Joseph’s College has prepared each of its students for lives characterized by integrity, intellectual values, social responsibility and service - a life that is worthy of the College’s motto, Esse non videri: “To be, not to seem.”
St. Joseph’s encourages its students to develop personal value systems, responsible self-direction and commitment to participation in local and global communities through volunteerism and donations.
Today, the College continues to actively promote these founding principles, not only to our students, but also to the community as a whole, by offering numerous volunteer and community outreach activities to its students on both the Brooklyn and Long Island campuses.
