BROOKLYN AND LONG ISLAND, NY – May 14, 2010 - St. Joseph’s College is pleased to announce it has completed the search for a new chief information officer. Dr. Kenneth McCollum will assume his new role and join the administration of the College on Monday, May 17, 2010.

Hill C.S.J., J.D., president of St. Joseph's College. “Dr. McCollum brings a wealth of experience to his new position and will be a valued addition to the Office of Technology and Information Services, particularly during this period of growth and advancement in technology. I wish him every success in his new role.”
Dr. McCollum comes to St. Joseph’s with extensive experience in higher education technology. In his most recent position as associate vice chancellor for information technology for System Computing Services (SCS), a unit of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) responsible for provisioning and managing system-wide information services, Dr. McCollum oversaw the computer systems and was responsible for planning, budgeting, policy development and managing technical support staff for all eight NSHE institutions. The SCS-supported statewide network provides data and video Internet and Internet-2 connectivity to more than 200 NSHE campus locations, rural K-12 locations, health clinics, and state agencies.
Prior to his work at NSHE, Dr. McCollum was the associate vice chancellor for information technology and chief technology officer at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he initiated the development of a Network Operations Center for the monitoring and management of the university computing infrastructure and network performance. He was also instrumental in the development and operation of the technology systems for LaGuardia Community College, where he served as vice president for information technology and director of information management and analysis.
Dr. McCollum, who will serve both the Brooklyn and Long Island campuses of St. Joseph’s College, has a B.A. in psychology from Stony Brook University, an M.S. in strategic planning and policy analysis from the W. Averell Harriman College for Policy Analysis and Public Management at Stony Brook University and a Ph.D. in systems modeling and program evaluation from the University of Virginia.
