“LIRACHE’s 19 colleges and universities have a commitment to educating our Long Island students,” said LIRACHE Chair and President of Molloy College Dr. Drew Bogner. “In the wake of Super Storm Sandy, the need for information and assistance is even more critical. Our financial aid departments continue to work diligently with families and students to facilitate access and affordability.”
The Financial Aid Information Seminar will include a keynote presentation by Congressman Tim Bishop, followed by a panel discussion including several financial aid professionals representing 19 colleges and universities from across Long Island. Topics will include applying for loans, common errors, early awareness, FAFSA and federal and state programs. A reception and a resource expo will conclude the evening.
“Higher education is a gateway to opportunity, but students and families need to be informed as they consider options for financing their investment in a college education,” said Congressman Tim Bishop. “This workshop will outline how to access education aid and loans and how to be smart about debt. I thank St. Joseph’s College, LIRACHE and all of the participants in this important event for Long Island families.”
