Student Receives One Of Seven Slots In Competitive MBA Program
PATCHOGUE,
NY – MAY 6, 2009 – St. Joseph’s College is pleased to announce that
senior student and 2009 class valedictorian, Brennin Kroog, has been
accepted into the very competitive Silver Scholars program at Yale
University in New Haven, CT. With the average age of a Silver Scholar
being 28, the 22-year-old Kroog has already been named the number one
Financial Advisor in his age bracket on the east coast by Northwestern
Mutual Financial Network.
“The charitable influence and core
liberal arts education I received while in high school and at St. Joe’s
helped with my acceptance into Yale,” said Brennin Kroog. “I have been
blessed with this opportunity.”
For fall 2009, the Silver
Scholars Program at the Yale School of Management admitted only seven
applicants out of hundreds vying for acceptance. The three-year MBA
program includes a year studying the basic skills of management within
the core curricula, a year interning at a corporation, with past
Scholars obtaining positions at the Wall Street Journal, Pfizer and
Time Magazine, and a year back at Yale concluding their studies.
Kroog
is a graduate of Bellport High School and will graduate from St.
Joseph’s in May 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in business
administration with a concentration in finance and economics and a
minor in history. He was also accepted, with scholarships, to Cornell
University and Carnegie Mellon University. Mr. Kroog currently works as
a financial advisor for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and will
continue with the company upon relocation. Silver Scholar graduates
have gone on to secure jobs with Google, the New York Times and British
Petroleum. Kroog hopes to eventually work in mergers and acquisitions
at Goldman & Sachs.
