SJC to Host Financial Aid Information Seminar

PATCHOGUE, NY – DECEMBER 22, 2009 – The Long Island Regional Advisory Council on Higher Education (LIRACHE), in conjunction with Congressman Tim Bishop (D-Southampton), invites you to learn how to pay for your child’s college education at its third annual Financial Aid Information Seminar hosted by St. Joseph’s College on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. 

The Financial Aid Information Seminar will include a keynote presentation by Congressman Tim Bishop and will be followed by a panel discussion by financial aid professionals from 19 colleges and universities from across Long Island. Topics will include applying for loans, common errors, early awareness, FAFSA and federal and state programs. A reception and a resource expo will conclude the evening.

Congressman Bishop served Southampton College for twenty-nine years in various capacities including financial aid officer and Provost. He has been among the strongest advocates in Congress for college affordability and helped write key provisions of new legislation signed into law this year which made the single largest investment in college financial aid since the 1944 GI Bill, helping millions of students and families pay for college – and doing so at no new cost to taxpayers.
