Clare Rose Presents "Having a Wonderful Time, Wish You Were Her"

PATCHOGUE, NY – April 3, 2009 – The Clare Rose Playhouse, a community theatre located on the Long Island Campus of St. Joseph’s College, will continue its 2008-09 season with Having a Wonderful Time, Wish You Were Her, a rambunctious comedy by the comedic duo William Van Zandt and Jane Milmore. The show will run April 24 through May 10, 2009.

Having a Wonderful Time, Wish You Were Her depicts a tangled web of infidelity and lust. The story stems from married couple Danny and Jennifer. Danny is cheating on Jennifer with her sister Kathy who is newly dating Danny’s best friend Paul who is and has been Jennifer’s lover. Meanwhile, Jennifer and Kathy’s parents, Mary and Bill, are celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary and the whole crew is present for the awkward exchange of adult humor and sexual frustration.

Hailed by the New York Times as “the masters of modern farce,” William Van Zandt and Jane Milmore’s 22 plays have kept audiences amused by the multi-faceted plots and trails of gags for almost 30 years. Among their long list of productions include, Love Sex and the IRS, Bathroom Humor, Do Not Disturb and Confessions of a Dirty Blonde. Van Zandt and Milmore have been honored by the American Red Cross for their humanitarian work, and for sponsoring full- and part-time scholarships for students of technical theater at Brookdale College in New Jersey. The pair has put over 25 students through college since its inception in 1997.

Individual tickets for this show are priced at $15; $12 for students and seniors. Show times are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, please call the box office at 631.654.0199.
