The Academic Center is a resource for students seeking help in every aspect of writing. Our professional tutors provide expertise and individual assistance on all the fundamentals of writing, from planning and drafting, to editing and revising assignments. The Academic Center is located on the third floor of McEntegart Hall in Room 306.
Tutors provide one-on-one assistance on these basics:
Grammar and punctuation
Analyzing and understanding assignments
Spelling, word choice and sentence structure
Planning, executing and revising work
In addition, tutors aid and advise students on more complex issues, such as:
Citation styles and procedures, particularly APA/MLA
Business and résumé writing
Study skills and critical thinking
Test preparation
Accounting and Math at The Academic Center
We are also able to provide one-on-one tutoring in accounting and math at the Academic Center. Accounting is primarily by appointment only, but there are some weekly hours where the tutor can be found in the center (see Academic Center hours). Math and statistics tutoring is by appointment only.
