Dr. Calareso Named to Brooklyn Power List

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – November 3, 2016 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is proud to announce that President Jack P. Calareso, Ph.D., has been named to City and State’s 2016 “Brooklyn Borough 50” list for his contributions to the Brooklyn community. He will receive the award on Thursday, November 17 at the Hall at MP in Brooklyn.

“City and State is one of the most respected and insightful commentators on politics and business in the New York metropolitan area,” said Dr. Calareso. “I am honored to be included in their Brooklyn Borough 50 issue and commend my fellow nominees for their contributions to our community.”

The Brooklyn Borough 50 annually recognizes 50 of the most powerful leaders in government, education, business and culture who reside in Brooklyn. At this event, a panel of leading figures from government, banking, education and real estate will convene to discuss the most pressing economic and social issues that affect Brooklyn and its surrounding communities. 

Dr. Calareso has earned a national reputation for his knowledge in liberal arts education, teaching and administration. He is also a renowned speaker at international, national, regional and local conferences and workshops, as well as the author of numerous books and articles. A strong fundraiser, Dr. Calareso has successfully planned and led a number of major fundraising campaigns at SJC resulting in significant capital improvements, growth of endowments, scholarship programs, endowed chairs and special projects. Prior to his time at SJC, Dr. Calareso was president of Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass., Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio and Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.
