Latino Studies

This minor complements many academic majors and helps prepare students for professions for which knowledge of diverse Latino communities will be a valuable resource. Students choosing the minor will study the history and cultures of Latinos and Latin Americans from the perspective of several disciplines, including history, the social sciences, music and Spanish.

Students are required to take nine credits in Spanish from the course curriculum (in addition to having completed their prerequisites SPN 201 and 202). Students are required to complete an additional nine credits in other disciplines, for a total of 18 credits for the minor.
