SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS

In addition to academic merit, the scholarship committee considers students' contributions to their schools and communities through activities and service. For scholarship consideration, please note the following deadlines and also refer to these scholarship guidelines:   

Transfer Applicants

The College recommends that all admissions materials (admissions applications, transcripts) be received on or before August 1 for fall entering students and January 1 for spring entering students.

Freshmen Applicants

For scholarship consideration, the College recommends that all admissions materials (admissions application, high school records, SAT results) be received by the Office of Admissions on or before March 15 for fall entering students and January 1 for spring entering students.

Scholarships

TOP TIER SCHOLARSHIPS

Entering freshmen with a minimum 90 cumulative high school average and 1170 RSAT score (EBRW and Math) will be considered. Top-tier scholarships begin at $15,000 per year.

SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

Entering freshmen with a minimum 80 cumulative high school average and 1080 RSAT score (EBRW and Math) will be considered. Scholastic achievement awards range from $8,000 - $11,000 per year.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Entering full-time transfer students with a minimum 2.8 GPA (4.0 scale) will be considered. Academic achievement scholarships range from $5,000 - $11,000.

ACES GRANTS

The ACES Program for English Language and Culture awards a $10,000 per year grant to eligible students who have immigrated to the U.S. within the last eight years, completed their high school coursework, and have acquired a foundation in reading, writing and English.

ADDITIONAL SJC SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS

Students who demonstrate financial need, special interest and/or academic promise may be considered for additional grants. Award amounts vary according to financial need and available funds.
