Bio

Mary A. Chance has taught accounting and coordinated accounting internships at St. Joseph’s University, New York for the School of Arts and Sciences since 1983. In 1998, she was appointed director of the Office of Graduate Management Studies; a position she held through 2013. In this role, she provided the academic and administrative leadership for this dual-campus program including curriculum development and refinement, program registration and assessment, strategic planning, faculty and staff recruitment, and development and representation to external and internal constituencies.

Prior to becoming director, she worked as coordinator for the fast-track M.S. in Taxation program and M.B.A. programs at Long Island University in Brentwood. She is a former consultant for the New York State Education Department’s Office of College and University Evaluation. Along with working in education, Ms. Chance had operated her own private tax practice and is a former tax manager for Price Waterhouse.

Ms. Chance is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.
