Bio

Susan Straut Collard has been a dedicated advocate of the study and practice of child development and teacher education for more than 25 years. In addition to being the associate chair of the Department of Child Study, the director of the Master of Arts in Special Education, and the former director of the Dillon Child Study Center, Dr. Straut Collard teaches undergraduate classes on classroom management and education of students with learning disabilities, and graduate courses on differentiated instruction, education of students with severe disabilities, collaborative leadership processes and advanced fieldwork in severe disabilities.

Dr. Straut Collard's professional affiliations include the Council for Exceptional Children, the Interdisciplinary Council for Children with Developmental Learning Disorders, Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Beta Kappa and the New York Association of Teacher Educators, among others.
