Bio

William Trevino has taught at St. Joseph's University, New York since 2005 and currently runs the theatre minor program on the Brooklyn Campus. Before joining the University, he performed on television and off-Broadway. In 2001 he co-founded the physical theatre company, Corporeal Arts Incorporated, and he continues to collaborate on original works as an actor/director, presenting in curated programs at NYC institutions like HERE, Dixon Place, and the Queens Council on the Arts as well as in California, Brazil, and Finland. Certified as a 5th degree black belt in the Korea martial art of Soo Bahk Do, he received a grant from the Jerome Foundation to pursue his research in martial arts training for performing artists. He has taught practical workshops on this research through the New York Film Academy, the Performance Studies Department at NYU, the Center for Dance, Movement, and Somatic Learning at Stony Brook University, and the Brazilian Theatre Union SATED. He has presented his movement research academically for the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, Association for Theatre Movement Educators, and International Federation for Theatre Research.
