  Come see Giacomo Puccini’s epic final opera, Turandot. This fairytale-like story takes us back to ancient China where we will see how love melts even the coldest heart. Marvel at the vibrant costumes, beautiful sets and the glorious music, including the unforgettable tenor aria, “Nessun dorma.”

  David Hartsough Book Discussion

  The Institute for Religion at SJC Long Island, Conscience Bay Friends Meeting, Religious Society of Friends, Pax Christi Long Island and the Social Justice Committee are co-sponsoring a lecture and book signing by David Hartsough, author of Waging Peace. 

  Waging Peace is a testament to the difference one person can make. Hartsough’s stories inspire, educate and encourage readers to find ways to work for a more just and peaceful world. Inspired by the examples of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., Hartsough has spent his life experimenting with the power of active nonviolence. It is the story of one man’s effort to live as though we were all brothers and sisters.
