Kristillnacht Observance
The Institute for the Study of Religion in Community Life at St. Joseph’s College will hold a Kristallnacht observance featuring Sophia Richman, Ph.D., ABPP, who will present the lecture, “A Wolf in the Attic: The Legacy of a Hidden Child of the Holocaust.” The event will include a kosher buffet and Kaddish prayer led by Rabbi Joel Levinson of Temple Beth El in Patchogue, New York.
Kristallnacht, literally, "Night of Crystal," is often referred to as the "Night of Broken Glass." The name refers to the wave of violent anti-Jewish pogroms which took place on November 9 and 10, 1938. This wave of violence took place throughout Germany, annexed Austria and in areas of the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia.
A $10 fee includes a kosher buffet. For more information, call 631.687.5100.
