  Common Core Symposium

  Various critiques, topics and viewpoints regarding Common Core Mathematics and English-Language Arts will be discussed amongst the distinguished presenters and symposium attendees. 

  Speakers include Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C,I-Holbrook); Dr. Charles Russo, superintendent of East Moriches School District; Brian Buckley, English coordinator at Plainedge Middle School; and John Titolo, director of mathematics for the Bethpage UFSD. There will also be speakers to represent the student and parent perspective. The symposium will conclude with a panel about Common Core.

  A $5 admission fee includes a hot lunch. Space is limited. SJC students majoring in child study or education can apply for the Common Core Symposium Scholarship. For more information, email Dr. Elana Reiser, associate professor of mathematics, at [email protected].
