    Artist Talk: Ejay Weiss

    Tuesday, November 15, 2016
    1:00 pm
SJC Long Island, Shea Conference Room

This year, we are pleased to have New York-based painter and sculptor, Ejay Weiss as our Artist in Residence.

Over the past five decades, Weiss’ work has been inspired by nature, physics, evolution, geological processes, Eden as a metaphor, the Gulf War and Superstorm Sandy. Most notable, this September, a large part of Weiss’ "9/11 Elegy: Ghost City" paintings will be featured in "Rendering the Unthinkable: Artists Respond to 9/11," the inaugural art exhibition commemorating the 15-year anniversary of 9/11 at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

During his visit, Weiss will conduct a series of workshops and talks discussing how the second dimension can utilize a global perspective. He will also discuss the ways critical mass and entropy — the relationship between order and chaos — are embedded within the macrocosm and microcosm of his canvas.
