August 09, 2017

Patchogue, N.Y. – August 9, 2017 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) and Hofstra University have signed an articulation agreement for students to complete a five-year program in computer science resulting in a Bachelor of Science from St. Joseph’s College and a Master of Science from Hofstra University. The agreement was signed by Stuart Rabinowitz, president of Hofstra University; Gail Simmons, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Hofstra; Jack Calareso, Ph.D., former president of St. Joseph’s College and Christopher Frost, Ph.D., former senior vice president for academic affairs at St. Joseph’s College.

“At St. Joseph’s College, we understand that for students, time is money, and for that reason, we pay special attention to helping students complete their degrees in as little time as possible,” said Christopher Frost, Ph.D., former senior vice president at St. Joseph's College. “We are proud to report that our four-year graduation rate exceeds the six-year graduation national average, and we have created numerous accelerated pathways for students so that they can earn both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, generally within five years. Our latest fast-track program will enable students to complete a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science in only five years. In addition, six credits towards the master’s degree can be completed at SJC at no additional cost to full-time undergraduate students. This program truly combines the best of what SJC has to offer with the best of Hofstra University.”

Currently, SJC Long Island has articulation agreements with Suffolk County Community College for accounting, criminal justice, human services, nursing, computer information technology and hospitality and tourism management; Nassau Community College for health administration, human services and hospitality and tourism management; SUNY Sullivan Community College for health administration; and New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants for health administration.
