Delve into the world of social, economic and political issues with our Department of Social Sciences. Students choose between three majors — sociology, economics or political science — and prepare for a future in the field that interests them most.
Students work closely with faculty who are active practitioners in the field, and qualified majors apply the skills to real-life experience through internships. Past interns have served at the United Nations, New York City and state agencies, and the Republican and Democratic national conventions.
Engage in critical thinking, methodological training, contextual analysis and communication. Prepare for graduate school, or to enter such fields as criminal justice, education, nonprofit organizations, business, social work, or state and local government.
