Maximizing the strengths of registered nurses, St. Joseph’s upper-division baccalaureate nursing program builds a solid foundation for graduate study. Nurses are consistently in high demand, especially in New York and St. Joseph’s prepares you for professional practice in traditional and unstructured health care settings.
Our program, which is strictly for registered nurses, focuses on nursing theory and the promotion, restoration and maintenance of health for clients, the development of critical thinking and decision-making skills, and the development of leadership skills appropriate to beginning professional practice.
As adult learners, nursing students have unique needs and are diverse in their experiential backgrounds. We promote self-directed learning, increasing the student’s existing professional knowledge base and facilitating change in professional role perceptions and behavior.
The B.S. with a major in Nursing Program at St. Joseph's College is accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).
