St. Joseph’s College was recently recognized by two prestigious publications as an outstanding college in New York under the category of America’s Best Colleges.
For the eighth consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report named St. Joseph's College, NY to its top-tier of “Northern Comprehensive Colleges – Bachelor’s” category.
SJC received a tie-ranking of 17 with Endicott College in 2010. U.S News & World Report bases its annual rankings on graduation and retention rate, faculty resources, selectivity, faculty/student ratio and the assessment of each school from its peers.
For the second consecutive year, SJC maintained its high ranking in Forbes Magazine's “America's Best Colleges” online issue. The criteria for ranking in this publication was based on the average student debt at graduation, percentage of students graduating in four years and the number of students or faculty who win national competitive awards.
“Our commitment to providing an outstanding liberal arts education to a diverse population of students in the New York Metropolitan area continues to be at the forefront of our efforts and is exhibited in our strong freshmen retention rates, continuing dedication to highly personalized instruction and excellent faculty,” said President S. Elizabeth A. Hill, C.S.J., J.D. “We are pleased to be recognized, once again, by both publications and look forward to receiving future rankings that distinguish us from other institutions.”
