Magdalena Wiecek Named Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week

Senior outside hitter Magdalena Wiecek (Queens, NY) was named AD3I Player of the Week for the Week ending Sep. 22nd. This is the first time a Lady Bear has received the honor in volleyball since becoming an AD3I member in 2006.

Wiecek helped keep the Lady Bears perfect season in tact against previously undefeated Ramapo College in a non-conference matchup on Sep. 18 at the Bradley Center in Mahwah. After dropping games one and two, their first losses of the season, Wiecek led the Lady Bears with 21 total kills (4.2 kpg), 10 digs (2.0 dpg), four assists and two service aces to win the final three games (25-30, 14-30, 30-21, 30-23, 15-13). The loss snapped Ramapo's seven game win streak dropping them to 7-1, while the Lady Bears improved to 4-0.

 
Also recognized for her performance in the match against Ramapo, junior setter Jamie Mascetti (Queens, NY) was named Setter of the Week by the USCAA. Mascetti finished with 34 assists (6.8 apg), 7 digs (1.4 dpg), and 1 kill.
