Chemistry Program

Each St. Joseph’s College student’s strengths and talents are nurtured in the small classes of the Physical Sciences Department. We offer one-on-one personal attention in the laboratory and many opportunities to work in a variety of special programs.

In , the department offers a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry with opportunities to combine the degree with concentrations in biochemistry, business or secondary education. The department in  offers a minor in chemistry.

There are many special programs available to students who major in chemistry include serving as laboratory assistants and chemistry tutors. Laboratory assistants are employed in the preparation of the chemicals and equipment for the department experiments. These students also perform essential professional functions during the department's outreach programs when various groups of pre-college students are invited to participate in laboratory research.
