Publication Request Form & Guidelines

St. Joseph's College students find an affordable college of academic excellence, real-life learning, personal attention and a vibrant, caring community.

Initial Contact: To initiate a publications project, anything from a postcard to a full brochure, please complete our basic online publications request form located at the end of these guidelines. You will receive a confirmation request via email within two business days. The Publications Coordinator will call you to schedule a meeting with our publications/design staff. Please be advised that we will need six to eight weeks from that meeting (and all relevant materials) to complete your project.

Initial Meeting: At this meeting we will discuss concepts for your project and make recommendations based on your needs, goals and budget. Please bring all relevant materials, such as content, photos and delivery dates. For smaller projects, such as simple updates, it may be possible to forgo the meeting and communicate the new information by phone or email.

Copy Editing & Design: Our staff will edit and proof your copy according to the SJC Editorial Style Guide. We will create a layout consistent with SJC standards, merging copy with concept to create a harmonious result. We will provide you with proofs as the project progresses to review and modify/approve.

Final Proof & Approval: After making your requested changes/modifications, we will return your project to you for final proofing and review. Although our staff proofreads everything we create, final responsibility for completeness and correctness of content lies with you. You will signify your final approval by signing the final proof form.

Production: We will release your project to the print vendor after receiving final approval and we will consult with you as to the choice of print vendor. However, depending upon the size and scope of the project, some printers may be more suitable than others for certain projects. Final decision will be made by the Publications and Design Department.

Billing: When the project is completed and delivered, we will promptly forward the appropriate invoice to your office. Someone will contact you shortly after receipt of the following to confirm details.
