Did you know that St. Joseph’s College provides PGS students with an opportunity to join professional organizations right on campus? Students are eligible to become members of the Student Chapter of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management), regardless of the degree you wish to obtain; in fact much of the research accessible through SHRM crosses every industry and field of study. Your membership to both the Student Chapter as well as the national chapter can provide you with access to a number of resources that can aid you in your studies at the college, as well as enhance your potential for career advancement, and provide you with the opportunity to meet other PGS students. Here are just some of the benefits a Chapter membership can provide you:

Research material on all types of subjects relevant to a variety of fields of study

Additionally, membership in the Student Chapter can provide those students who are interested with an opportunity to become a Board Member, as the Chapter has a variety of elected positions that are held by PGS students. As students, membership to St. Joseph’s Student Chapter is just $5.00 annually and membership to the national SHRM organization is $35.00. Simply complete the attached membership application(s) and place it in the SHRM mailbox located on the third floor in the common area. You will receive information about upcoming SHRM events sponsored by the Student Chapter and your membership card will be mailed to you from the national chapter. Save Time and money
Get a head start on your Graduate Management Studies degree by taking one or two courses required for the M.S. in Management or M.B.A. and have those courses satisfy a portion of your undergraduate degree requirements at the same time. This option is restricted to seniors who have completed their undergraduate major requirements as well as the appropriate prerequisite courses for the graduate program. Students must apply and be accepted to the graduate program. Acceptance is determined by Office of Academic Advisement.

Alumni Graduate Academic Excellence Award
Students who earned their bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College with a final cumulative GPA of 3.400 or higher and who are admitted to a graduate program may be eligible for the 1-credit SJC Alumni Graduate Academic Excellence Award. Eligible students are entitled to a 1-credit tuition grant in the first fall or spring semester of matriculation as a graduate studies degree student. Graduate Alumni Tuition Grant
Students who earned their bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College and who are admitted to a graduate program may be eligible to receive a 3- or 6-credit tuition grant. Students eligible for a 6-credit grant are entitled to a 3-credit tuition grant in the fall semester and a 3-credit tuition grant in the spring semester of their last year. If students are eligible for a 3-credit grant, the grant will be awarded in the last semester (excluding summer).

The Office of Multicultural Student Life
Located in Room N302A in O’Connor Hall, this office welcomes and embraces all students from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. This office develops, implements and builds programs, services and resources that foster inter-cultural and cross-cultural understanding and respect. NYC Uniformed Personnel Tuition Grant
This grant is available only to active personnel and civilian office staff of the New York City Police, Fire or Correction Departments who are pursuing a graduate degree at St. Joseph's College. The grant is equal to one-third of the prevailing St. Joseph's College tuition.
